Hello and thanks for checking out my new website created by the amazing Henry Wang! I’m excited to be able to share with you my latest videos and upcoming concert schedule as well as information about my teaching. I also want to give a big thank you to Los Angeles based photographer Eliot Lee Hazel for creating the stunning images of me for the site! He’s worked with some of the greatest musical artists like Beck and Thom Yorke to name just a couple, so I was honored that he agreed to do a shoot with me, and I think the results were fantastic. I think his use of direct light is a unique and beautiful approach to portraiture, and he did the entire shoot using only natural light. We had a memorable day in August driving around LA to get the photos. It was during a heatwave, and the forecast called for a high of 104 degrees fahrenheit, so we left at 6am to finish before it got unbearably hot. Eliot took me on a wild tour that included sites near the LA river, Union Station in downtown LA, and some freeway bridges in search of the perfect lighting for his work.
